THOTCON (pronounced \ˈthȯt\ and taken from THree - One - Two) is a small venue hacking conference based in Chicago IL, USA. This is a non-profit, non-commercial event looking to provide the best conference possible on a very limited budget.
It was started as an idea in late 2009, by a group of local hackers who wanted to start a local low cost con. There have been three successful cons in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 with tickets selling out well before the conference date.
Since Chicago has a great hacking and security scene in small pockets we wanted to get everyone together at a real conference where we don't have to travel and spend a ton of money.
Any proceeds from the event are applied toward the next year's event with hope to be able to put on a better con each year.
THOTCON 0x5 will be held in Chicago, IL on Friday, April 25th, 2014.
The event will be limited to 20 talks, 3 workshops and 750 attendees.
It will be held at a location only to be disclosed to attendees and speakers during the week before the event.
